Can there be more than one reality at a time, and can we experience them both? These were the questions that led photographer and former psychology professor Allan I. Teger to create this collection of black and white Bodyscapes(R). At first glance, Bodyscapes appear to be landscapes; a second look shows that they are in fact nude bodies with small toys and miniatures set on them. Spanning a 35-year period, this collection shows more than 110 black and white images photographed in a single exposure without any post processing or manipulation. The body becomes the setting for golfing, skiing, mountain climbing, surfing, and other sports. Other images feature landscapes ranging from rolling farmlands to beaches and outer space. They are fun, beautiful, and sensual, but always in good taste. This elegant portfolio of Teger's images is an ideal, reality-bending addition to any art photography library.

    Conceptually this book really works, all pieces black and white, thick paper. The earlier pictures epitomize Teger's work, and it was refreshing to see some later pieces that had not appeared online. Good to see that some of the online pictures are better represented in the book, in particular with regard to water scenes. That said I was disappointed to see that the ink on opposing pages has rubbed off on the opposite. What would have been better would have been blank opposing pages.

    Es ist erstaunlich, was man mit ein paar kleinen Figürchen und menschlichen Körpern alles in Szene setzen kann. Die Bilder sind mal erotisch, mal lustig und manchmal einfach nur abgedreht. Letztlich geht es darum, den Körper als Landschaft abzulichten, in der die Figuren unterschiedliches machen: Golf spielen, wandern, am "See" liegen und so weiter. Raffiniert gemacht und schön anzusehen. Vielleicht bringt es den einen oder anderen auch mal dazu, selbst die Kamera mit seinem Partner zu schwingen. Genug Anregungen gibt das Buch dazu.

    I purchased this as a Christmas gift and the man it was for could NOT put it down. The photography is superb! There is no other word to describe it. The book itself is of excellent quality and the writing - forward, etc. by the author gives you insight as to who he is as a person, and he invites you into his head. More amazing is the reasonable price. In this day and age, this combination is very difficult to find. It also arrived on time. If you are considering this book for a gift, or, as a present to yourself, do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed.
