    Il primo ciclo di storie di Love & Rockets è uno dei più belli e importanti mai disegnati nella storia del fumetto. Questo secondo ciclo non è mai stato pubblicato in italiano, ed al momento l'editore americano ha esaurito l'edizione stampata. Fortunatamente c'è la buona edizione Kindle, ben fatta ed economica, il cui unico (grosso) limite è purtroppo proprio il supporto fisico: le tavole sullo schermo del Kindle sono troppo piccole...in molti casi l'unico modo di guardarle senza farsi venire mal di testa è attraverso lo zoom vignetta-per-vignetta, che però fa perdere molto dell'arte degli autori. Riguardo alle storie contenute nel volume, la qualità di queste prime storie è buona, anche se non sensazionale come altre in passato: entrambi gli autori sembrano ancora alla ricerca delle esatte misure per lo sviluppo di storie più ad ampio respiro nei numeri successivi.

    ...I bought the newest issue of Love and Rockets #1 after exhausting the teen and adult years of my favorite 2 comic book characters ever: Hopey and Maggie. Now as aging women, the tease of Hopey starting a new chapter (of all things!) as a teacher and Maggie, fixing things and managing an apartment home. Penny finally got superpowers, but at the cost of her children, wow! I need to save some cash because I have to know...WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?
    P.S This was the fastest I have ever received a package from an Amazon seller, awesomeness!

    This was my first love and rockets book. Good compilation of short stories. Definitely interesting and made me want to read more.

    Disappointing drivel.

    I was expecting more about Hoppers 13 and Palomar, but I think that Jaime and Gilberto were sick to death of them (which is why they brought it all to a close), and wanted to try something else. Unfortunately, these strips are neither here nor there, as if the chaps were marking time until they could think of worthwhile stories. But we are still expected to part with money to read it.

    It's all just uninspired. There's some pointless bilge about superheroines (actually, Jaime needs to leave the sci-fi alone), and some meaningless waffle about a Martin/Lewis-ish double act and something else about a kangaroo. It all reminds me of Music For Mechanics, the first L&R book, in which Los Bros were trying to find their styles. Avoid that, too.

    I don't know about Jaime and Hoppers, but Gilberto did pick up Luba's story later, and that of her half-sisters. I suggest you don't waste your money on this, or its successor (with the orange cover featuring the lady with the pale legs), and go straight to Luba. I wish I had.
