    This book gets five stars from me because the storyline is interesting and I like the romantic relationship of Diana and Clark/Kal or Wonder Woman and Superman.

    Wow.

    How can a story so short be so cool? A brief Elseworlds story but one that is really well told. Supremely underrated and deserves its spot with other great Elseworlds stories like Dark Knight Returns or the Killing Joke.

    Begins a bit strange, its the late 1990's and a computer error starts WWIII. Nuclear weapons destroy the world and somehow robs Superman of his powers. He survives, living in a post-apocalyptic world, where Lois, Perry, Jimmy, Bruce and even Lex are dead. Metropolis belongs to Superman learning all the skills he used as a farmer to survive until the time comes to look for other survivors.

    He finds a noble steed but even more he finds his old friend Diana. The former Wonder Woman survived and even more she and Clark find each other, as in being more than just friends. They do find other friends and begin to rebuild the world... Unfortunately its ruined when the foundation is built whilst an old friend becomes a terrible enemy. Its weird seeing this character become an enemy but given how in real life the villain competed with Superman in the heroic contention during the Golden Age of comics.

    In the end hope turns to fear and then turns into despair. That despair becomes hatred that eventually destroys the world and no more chances at it except one. The son of Superman and Wonder Woman is sent away from Earth just like his father was from Krypton.

    The ending is a bit skewed, I'd have preferred it if he was badly wounded to join his son but its still a good ending.

    As other reviewers have pointed out this book does end a little too short for my hunger. I really enjoyed the story and wished they were able to take more time diving in to many of the questions that the reader has about the events leading up to this point and what drives many of the characters. They really throw a ton of information into this small book and it makes the reader crave more. In a few panels they will sum up years that I wished they explored more. Despite this concern, I was very entertained during the entire journey. I would recommend this to anyone who is even slightly interested in the premise of a post nuclear war superman and company story.
