Combine medieval knights with some (relatively) grown-up Power Rangers, throw in dragons and two-headed dogs, and update the story with female and African American warriors, and you've got a politically correct fantasy for today's kids. This 85-minute movie is an outgrowth of the FoxKids half-hour television series. The four titular knights find their quests for custom-made armor laden with special powers constantly interrupted by the evil Queen Maeve, who is determined to wrest the kingdom from the king, father of female knight (and princess!) Deirdre. Filmed on location in Ireland and sporting computer-animated effects, this tale should appeal to the young Dungeons-and-Dragons male crowd, as well as young females looking for a more proactive role model than the traditional Arthurian maiden. --Kimberly Heinrichs
